The 2nd full-length by this Mexican band, now relocated in Sweden. Nigrum´s strike is a serpentine one: clear and cutting in its cunning, but given to hideous energies that always threaten to bubble over into hysteria. Nigrum’s Black Metal here simultaneously sounds vintage (in a thrashy fashion) and modern, yet no trendiness pursued for cheap absorption. Draw a mental picture of Watain with no commercial intentions, and you’re almost there.
