SHRINE OF THE SERPENT - Entropic Disillusion (CD)
Release date: April 23rd, 2018.
In our endless quest to push and support underground acts that deliver the goods unaware of trends and hypes, we´re extremely excited to announce a new signing: SHRINE OF THE SERPENT, from U.S.A. Formed back in 2008 as Tenspeed Warlock, going under the current monicker since 2014 and comprised of past and current members of Aldebaran, Graves At Sea, Sod Hauler and Roanoke among others, this three-headed leviathan from Portland conjure up visions of utmost ominousness and malodorous dreariness as a celebration of the inevitable when life ceases to be and there´s nothing but a palpable somberness shrouding your passing to the other, unfathomable side. Being über-heavy, gloomy and miserable Death/Doom Metal the chosen guide for such a cryptic journey, one can only reckon to be crushed under the weight of numerous monolithic riffs enhanced with tortured growls, pounding drumming and eerie harmonies, and ultimately it´s all that and more that the listener will get in spades. Dismiss any hope for sentimental melodies, gothic overtones or operatic female voices, for the sole endeavor here is to oppress the listener. Fans of the bleak approach to the sub-genre of bands such as early Paradise Lost, Winter, Dusk, Hooded Menace, Decomposed (U.K.), Loss, diSEMBOWELMENT, Eternal Darkness, Druid Lord, and early Cathedral will definitely have plenty of morbid joy from experiencing this concoction of impending death and doom. Memento Mori will unleash the CD version of the band´s debut full-length album in the 1st half of 2018. Further details to follow in the coming weeks.
