[2022-10-19] FORMLESS OEDON (Philippines) signed to Memento Mori!!! In our endless quest to push and support current underground acts that perpetuate the odor of vintage Death Metal, we´re extremely thrilled to announce a new signing: FORMLESS OEDON, from the Philippines. FORMLESS OEDON came into being in late 2019 when founder/songwriter Rozel decided to re-ignite an old project that he had envisioned way back in 2014, which he later put on hiatus after facing difficulties in finding dedicated bandmates with the same passion for Death Metal. The band was originally started as a 3-piece act composing of fellow bandmates Jonathan and Andrei from local Thrash Metal group Desolator. The band owes much of their style and sound to old Finnish bands such as Demigod, Purtenance, Rippikoulu and Convulse, and other legendary bands including, but not limited to, Incantation, Dead Congregation and Immolation. An EP titled "Deathless Luminosity" was recorded in December 2019 and released in March 2020, during the peak of the pandemic in their country. The EP garnered the attention of the underground scene in their home country as well as overseas. With nationwide borders finally relaxing restrictions and live shows slowly returning to life, the band now aims to finally carve their piece of sonic history into the scene by releasing their debut album, actively playing live shows and taking the uncerground by storm. Formed in 2018 by Zoli (guitars) and Balázs (drums), initially under the monicker Mothrot, it wasn´t after Knot (guitars) and Ádám (bass/vocals) joined the band that they morphed into MEPHITIC GRAVE and the Lovecraftian universe of cosmic horror based Death Metal welcomed a new entity. Their shared adoration of the classic Finndeath scene and the mighty ancient U.S. bands settled their musical approach: unrefined, sickening and miasmatic Death Metal that oozes viscous matter and is drenched in derangement. Their debut album, "Into the Atrium of Inhuman Morbidity", put the band on the map of current, underground Death Metal in 2021. Since then, they´ve been working on new aural madness to dive deeper into the dreadful tones from beyond. In our endless quest to push and support current underground acts that perpetuate the odor of vintage Death Metal, we´re extremely thrilled to announce a new signing: INNARDS, from Portugal. INNARDS was brought forth by Hugo Andremon, former member of several acts (Grog, The Sorcerer, Filii Nigrantium Infernalium, Hellfuck, Di.Soul.Ved, Simbiose...), in March 2017. After the release of the debut CD with his solo project, The Sorcerer, in 2014, Andremon felt the need to return to his origins: pure Death Metal with Grindcore and Gore elements, and INNARDS was the best name he could have come up with, since it truly represents the band´s musical approach: viscerality. While searching for band members to achieve a strong lineup and play live, Andremon wrote and recorded four songs that were sent to a handful of labels in order to get a record deal, and it was Transcending Obscurity Records that signed the band. The resulting EP, "Back from the Grave, Straight in Your Face!!", was released to critical acclaim in early 2020 and it already featured two well-known local scenesters, namely Rui Gil (ex-Necrose) on bass, who became a full-time band member ever since, and Rolando Barros (Grog, ex-Sacred Sin...) as session drummer. It´s fairly easy to describe the variety of Death Metal that INNARDS present: it´s gnarly, savage, rotten-to-the-core and horror-themed Metal of Death of the so-called old school kind, deeply rooted in the late 80´s / early 90´s Floridian style and fleshed out with the abrasive fury of Grindcore elements that translates into the sort of old-timey, quintessential brutality that´s hard to come across in modern times.
