| A 2CD set that compiles the first two albums by this Ukranian band: "In loneliness of two souls" (2004) and "By the candles obsequial" (2006). The pace of their brand of Doom/Death Metal is generally quite slow, sometimes verging on Funeral Doom, with heavy doses of keyboards, sharp and monolithic guitars and beautiful violin parts that suddenly explode and grab you by the throat. It is impossible not to fall for the beauty of the melodies, the deep growls and clean vocals, and the well executed atmosphere. If you like melodic, mournful and depressive Doom/Death Metal, with a smattering of romanticism, like a mix of Mourning Beloveth, Shape of Despair, early My Dying Bride and Pantheist, this set comes highly recommended. |
